In this role, you will take ownership of project lifecycles from design through regulatory closure, including technical execution with client management and strategic oversight.
Key Responsibilities

- Remediation Engineering & Design: Oversee the design, installation, troubleshooting, and optimization of active and passive remediation systems (e.g., SVE, HVDPE, SSDS, groundwater pump-and-treat, in-situ bioremediation).
- Regulatory & Agency Interface: Serve as a point of contact for state and local regulatory agencies, negotiating permits, responding to comments, and helping drive sites toward regulatory closure.
- Client Relations & Communication: Cultivate trusted relationships with clients, presenting complex engineering concepts clearly, providing proactive project updates, and scoping new project phases.
- Financial & Resource Tracking: Monitor project labor and expense budgets, manage subcontractor scopes, and coordinate closely with field staff and junior engineers to ensure resource efficiency.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Environmental Engineering, Civil Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
- Experience: Minimum of 3 to 8 years of progressive environmental consulting experience focused on site remediation, environmental engineering, and project coordination.
- Licensure: Professional Engineer (PE) license (or active path to licensure within a specified time frame).
- Technical Mastery: Strong, practical understanding of environmental remediation technologies, hydrogeology, contaminant fate and transport, and regulatory frameworks (e.g., RWQCB, DTSC, etc.).
- Communication & Interpersonal Skills: Solid verbal and written communication skills with proven experience interfacing directly with clients and regulatory officials.
- Business Acumen: Demonstrated ability to manage project scopes, schedules, and budgets while balancing multiple concurrent tasks.
